ThinkCreative Creates eLayaway Website

eLayaway celebrates the beta launch of its online payment system this month (September 2006). With the tag line "credit is overrated", the system hopes to make online layaway available to any online store, large or small.

Application Development

ThinkCreative built both the website (using an open source content management system) and the application (using Ruby on Rails) from the ground up for eLayaway. Using a pragmatic development methodology the system was conceived, designed, and built rapidly by a small core team of developers.

While still early in its development cycle, the system is online and taking orders now, and has garnered a significant amount of merchant and consumer interest.

Simple, drop in code

To streamline the process of integrating with merchant's ecommerce applications, the system has been designed to literally "drop in" to existing store templates. Through some tricky javascript, eLayaway parses the product information and translates it into a usable format for completing the layaway transaction.

Only 12-15 lines of code are required to be added to the merchant's template for this complex functionality.

The eLayaway program is a patent pending online payment process created by eLayaway, LLC designed to make products and services easier to afford. This fiscally responsible payment option allows for partial payments to be made over time without interest fees. Like the standard layaway system, services are rendered once all payments have been made in full.
